Mi Jong Lee is an American fashion designer whose luxurious, sophisticated, modern clothes are marketed under the EMMELLE label and manufactured in New York City.

With a purity of style, incomparable tailoring and unique aesthetic vision, she merges architectural and linear design with innovative fabrics. Her fluid fashions drape, flatter and flow over the body.

After receiving a Bachelor of Science (cum laude) in Social Theories from Cornell University in 1980, she continued at the Parson’s School of Design in New York City. In 1982, Mi Jong Lee began to immerse herself in the art - and the business - of creating beautiful timeless fashion.

At the age of 23, she opened her first Madison Avenue boutique, christened "Emmelle." Though only 300 square feet, the elegant boutique was a success. By 1988, Emmelle had expanded to a 4000-square foot space and, in 2000, her business was completely vertical.

Today the Emmelle Collection is sold in exclusive stores throughout the United States and Europe. There are two Emmelle stores in Manhattan – a flagship store on Madison Avenue, as well as a boutique on Lexington Avenue.

Rejecting fashion fads, Mi Jong Lee follows her own philosophy with the belief that "beautiful fashion should be a continual celebration of the woman who wears it."

This is Emmelle...the art of personal style.
